Jay Nene has over five years of specialized experience at the intersection of law, technology, and business innovation, guiding Indian and global enterprises through the rapidly evolving digital legal landscape.

He regularly advises listed companies, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and product providers, generative AI ventures, electric vehicle (EV) OEMs, Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiatives, and emerging technology startups.

Jay is highly active in the technology policy sphere. He frequently collaborates with industry associations and tech policy forums, participating in public consultations, authoring expert publications, and speaking on panel discussions regarding emerging cyber, AI, and digital regulatory matters.

Data:

Extensive work in data protection includes consultations for legal frameworks such as India’s upcoming DPDPA, GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy laws. Implementing cross-border data transfer mechanisms (e.g., EU SCCs, UK IDTA, Schrems II). Significant experience in cybersecurity incidents and data breaches providing guidance for regulatory reporting and strategic guidance for CXO-level stakeholders.

India Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA)

Extensive experience in conducting  DPDPA gap assessments, designing  and implementing DPDPA compliance frameworks for clients across multiple sectors.

Incident Response & Cybersecurity:

Advises on cybersecurity incidents, CERT-In reporting obligations, data breach mitigation, and provides strategic, risk-adjusted guidance to legal, security, and CXO-level stakeholders

Technology:

Advisory on technology laws for intermediaries, gaming, health-tech, e-commerce, Web3, IoT, geospatial data, copyright/IP, media, web scraping, telemarketing, open-source licensing, software products and Telecom.

Artificial Intelligence:
